Just noticed Cormac Hogan posted a message stating that vsphere storage appliance can now utilize disks that are raid 5 and raid 6, as well as the standard raid 10. The requirement was redone to be more "relaxed" he said.
A lot of documentation and posts are not aware of the new abilities and configurations so that is good news for companies looking to add VSA to their existing or new hosts.
I wasn't aware of that until his post.
